Nehemian chapter 11 deals with the division of the people of Israel in Jerusalem after the reconstruction of the walls. The leaders were selected by draw and part of the people settled in the city, while others lived in neighboring cities to repopulate the region. Joshua 14:1: "These are those who received the inheritance in the land of Canaan, whom Eleazar the priest, and Joshua, son of Num, and the heads of the parents of the tribes of the sons of Israel, shared them by lot." Ezekiel 48:30-31: "And these are the exits of the city: on the north side, four thousand five hundred cubits by measure. " This verse describes the city of Jerusalem, including its division in tribes.
