Revelation, 6

6. I heard what seemed to be a voice in the midst of the four living creatures. It said, "A ration of wheat costs a day's pay, and three rations of barley cost a day's pay. But do not damage the olive oil or the wine."

Revelation 6 deals with the opening of the first six seals of the book in the hands of the Lamb. Each seal represents a series of judgments and events that occur on Earth during the tribulation. The verses selected below were chosen for their relationship with the themes dealt with in the chapter.

Matthew 24:4-5: "Jesus answered, Watch out, may no one deceive them. For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Christ!' And they will deceive many." This verse talks about the deception that will occur during the tribulation, when false Christs will arise to confuse people.

Zechariah 1:8-10: "At night I had a vision: I saw a man mounted on a red horse, and he was standing between the gorgens. Behind him were red, brown and white horses. This means, my Lord? Matthew 24:21: "For there will then be great tribulation, as has never been from the beginning of the world so far, and there will never be." This verse talks about the great tribulation that will occur during the tribulation, which is a central theme in Revelation 6.
