Revelation 18 talks about the fall of the great city, Babylon, which is seen as a symbolic figure of the world system of power and corruption. The city is seen as responsible for all the evil and abominable things that have occurred on Earth. Jeremiah 50:32: "The pride of Babylon will fall and will no longer rise; I will destroy its carved images and its statues; and it will forever be an object of horror." This verse talks about the fall of the city of Babylon and its pride, which is similar to what is described in Revelation 18.
