Hosea Chapter 10 talks about the punishment that Israel will suffer because of its idolatry and infidelity. The prophet compares the people to a rebellious vineyard and predicts the destruction of their altars and idols. Deuteronomy 28:58-59: "If you do not obey all the words of this law, which are written in this book, and do not fear this glorious and fearsome name, the Lord, your God, I will send you upon you and your descendants terrible misfortunes and lasting diseases and serious calamities. " This excerpt describes the consequences of disobedience to God and His judgment on those who rebel against Him.
2 Kings 17:7-8: "This happened because the Israelites had sinned against the Lord, his God, who had taken them out of Egypt, from the hand of Pharaoh, king of Egypt. They worshiped other gods and followed the customs of nations that The Lord had expelled from before them, as well as the customs that the kings of Israel had introduced. " This verse talks about how the people of Israel moved away from God's way and turned to false gods, following the practices of the pagan peoples around them.
Jeremiah 4:3-4: "For thus saith the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, 'Plan to Himself a new field, and do not sow among the thorns. Judah and Jerusalem, so that my wrath will not range like fire and burn, without anyone erasing it, because of your evil. '"This passage emphasizes the importance of true circumcision of the heart and repentance to prevent the wrath of God.
Psalm 51:17: "The sacrifices that please God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, thou shalt not despise." This verse shows that God values humility and contrition rather than external sacrifices or religious formalities.
Isaiah 45:9: "Woe to the one who contains with his creator! Caco among other clay shards! Handles'? " This verse highlights God's sovereignty and the futility of the rebellion against him.
