Jeremiah, 42

17. Yes, all those who are determined to go to Egypt and settle there, will die by sword, famine and plague: not a single one of them will survive or escape the disaster I shall inflict on them.

Jeremiah seeks God's will and responds that if they remain in Judah, they will be blessed, but if they go to Egypt, they will be punished. However, they refuse to listen and decide to go to Egypt. Jeremiah 7:3: "Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: improve their ways and actions, and I will make them dwell in this place." This verse shows God's message to the people of Judah, encouraging them to repent and improve their actions so that they can remain in their land.

Jeremiah 26:13: "Now change their lives and conduct, and obey the voice of the Lord, His God, that He may repent of the evil he has announced against you." This verse shows how Jeremiah urges the people to repent and change their lives to avoid divine punishment.

Jeremiah 37:17: "Then King Zedekiah had he sought him and questioned him in particular in his palace, asking, Is there any word of the Lord?" This verse shows how Zedekiah seeks God's Word through Jeremiah.
