I Juan, 1

1. Lo que existía desde el principio, lo que hemos oído, lo que hemos visto con nuestros ojos, lo que contemplamos y tocaron nuestras manos acerca de la Palabra de vida,

1. That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon and touched with our hands, concerning the word of life --

2. - pues la Vida se manifestó, y nosotros la hemos visto y damos testimonio y os anunciamos la Vida eterna, que estaba vuelta hacia el Padre y que se nos manifestó -

2. the life was made manifest, and we saw it, and testify to it, and proclaim to you the eternal life which was with the Father and was made manifest to us --

3. lo que hemos visto y oído, os lo anunciamos, para que también vosotros estéis en comunión con nosotros. Y nosotros estamos en comunión con el Padre y con su Hijo Jesucristo.

3. that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you may have fellowship with us; and our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.

4. Os escribimos esto para que nuestro gozo sea completo.

4. And we are writing this that our joy may be complete.

5. Y este es el mensaje que hemos oído de él y que os anunciamos: Dios es Luz, en él no hay tiniebla alguna.

5. This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him is no darkness at all.

6. Si decimos que estamos en comunión con él, y caminamos en tinieblas, mentimos y no obramos la verdad.

6. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not live according to the truth;

7. Pero si caminamos en la luz, como él mismo está en la luz, estamos en comunión unos con otros, y la sangre de su Hijo Jesús nos purifica de todo pecado.

7. but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

8. Si decimos: «No tenemos pecado», nos engañamos y la verdad no está en nosotros.

8. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9. Si reconocemos nuestros pecados, fiel y justo es él para perdonarnos los pecados y purificarnos de toda injusticia.

10. Si decimos: «No hemos pecado», le hacemos mentiroso y su Palabra no está en nosotros.
