Jeremiah, 35

7. don't build a house and don't sow seeds. You shall not plant or own a vineyard; do nothing like that but live in tents all your days so that you may live for a long time in the land where you dwell!'

Exodus 20:12: "Honor Your Father and Your Mother, that you may have a long life on the earth that the Lord, your God, gives you." The Recabitals honored and obeyed their ancestor, Jonadab, demonstrating respect for the traditions and teachings of their ancestors.

Proverbs 20:7: "The righteous walks in his integrity; happy are his children after him." The recabilities were rewarded for their faithfulness and integrity, being promised to them that they would always have descendants.

Acts 5:29: "Peter and the other apostles answered, 'It is necessary to obey God rather than men!" The recabilities chose to obey God and the traditions of their family, even if it meant disobeying the king of Judah.
