You will not even worship them, for I, the Lord, your God, I am a zealous God, who punishes the iniquity of parents in their children until the third and fourth generation of those who despise me. " This verse emphasizes the importance of God's exclusive worship and how idolatry is a serious sin.
Isaiah 66:3-4: "He who sacrifices oxen is like who kills a person; who offers sheep is like who breaks the neck of a dog; who presents cereal offers is like who offers pig blood; who burns incense is like who He loves an idol. They choose their own ways, and pleasure in their abominations; so I will also choose what afflicts them, and bring upon them what they feared so much. " This verse shows how God reproves the worship of idols and how those who persist in following their own ways are punished.
