Prophetia Ezechielis, 5

1. Et tu, fili hominis, sume tibi gladium acutum radentem pilos et assumes eum et duces per caput tuum et per barbam tuam et assumes tibi stateram ponderis et divides eos.

1. "And you, O son of man, take a sharp sword; use it as a barber's razor and pass it over your head and your beard; then take balances for weighing, and divide the hair.

2. Tertiam partem igne combures in medio civitatis, post completionem dierum obsidionis; et assumens tertiam partem, concides gladio in circuitu eius; tertiam vero aliam disperges in ventum, et gladium nudabo post eos.

2. A third part you shall burn in the fire in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are completed; and a third part you shall take and strike with the sword round about the city; and a third part you shall scatter to the wind, and I will unsheathe the sword after them.

3. Et sumes inde parvum numerum et ligabis eos in summitate pallii tui;

3. And you shall take from these a small number, and bind them in the skirts of your robe.

4. et ex eis rursum tolles et proicies eos in medio ignis et combures eos igne; ex eo egredietur ignis. Et dices ad omnem domum Israel:

4. And of these again you shall take some, and cast them into the fire, and burn them in the fire; from there a fire will come forth into all the house of Israel.

5. Haec dicit Dominus Deus: Ista est Ierusalem! In medio gentium posui eam et in circuitu eius terras.

5. Thus says the Lord GOD: This is Jerusalem; I have set her in the center of the nations, with countries round about her.

6. Et contempsit iudicia mea, ut plus esset impia quam gentes, et praecepta mea ultra quam terrae, quae in circuitu eius sunt: iudicia enim mea proiecerunt et in praeceptis meis non ambulaverunt.

6. And she has wickedly rebelled against my ordinances more than the nations, and against my statutes more than the countries round about her, by rejecting my ordinances and not walking in my statutes.

7. Idcirco haec dicit Dominus Deus: Quia tumultuati estis magis quam gentes, quae in circuitu vestro sunt, et in praeceptis meis non ambulastis et iudicia mea non fecistis et iuxta iudicia gentium, quae in circuitu vestro sunt, non estis operati,

7. Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because you are more turbulent than the nations that are round about you, and have not walked in my statutes or kept my ordinances, but have acted according to the ordinances of the nations that are round about you;

8. ideo haec dicit Dominus Deus: Ecce ego ad te et ipse ego faciam in medio tui iudicia in oculis gentium

8. therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I, even I, am against you; and I will execute judgments in the midst of you in the sight of the nations.

9. et faciam in te, quae non feci et quibus similia ultra non faciam, propter omnes abominationes tuas.

9. And because of all your abominations I will do with you what I have never yet done, and the like of which I will never do again.

10. Ideo patres comedent filios in medio tui, et filii comedent patres suos, et faciam in te iudicia et ventilabo universas reliquias tuas in omnem ventum.

10. Therefore fathers shall eat their sons in the midst of you, and sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments on you, and any of you who survive I will scatter to all the winds.

11. Idcirco vivo ego, dicit Dominus Deus, vere pro eo quod sanctum meum violasti in omnibus offensionibus tuis et in omnibus abominationibus tuis, ego quoque radam, et non parcet oculus meus, et non miserebor.

11. Wherefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD, surely, because you have defiled my sanctuary with all your detestable things and with all your abominations, therefore I will cut you down; my eye will not spare, and I will have no pity.

12. Tertia tui pars peste morietur et fame consumetur in medio tui, et tertia tui pars in gladio cadet in circuitu tuo, tertiam vero partem tuam in omnem ventum dispergam et gladium evaginabo post eos.

12. A third part of you shall die of pestilence and be consumed with famine in the midst of you; a third part shall fall by the sword round about you; and a third part I will scatter to all the winds and will unsheathe the sword after them.

13. Et complebo furorem meum et requiescere faciam indignationem meam in eis et consolabor; et scient quia ego Dominus locutus sum in zelo meo, cum implevero indignationem meam in eis.

13. "Thus shall my anger spend itself, and I will vent my fury upon them and satisfy myself; and they shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken in my jealousy, when I spend my fury upon them.

14. Et dabo te in desertum et in opprobrium in gentibus, quae in circuitu tuo sunt, in conspectu omnis praetereuntis;

14. Moreover I will make you a desolation and an object of reproach among the nations round about you and in the sight of all that pass by.

15. et eris opprobrium et blasphemia, exemplum et stupor in gentibus, quae in circuitu tuo sunt, cum fecero in te iudicia in furore et in indignatione et in castigationibus irae.

15. You shall be a reproach and a taunt, a warning and a horror, to the nations round about you, when I execute judgments on you in anger and fury, and with furious chastisements -- I, the LORD, have spoken --

16. Ego Dominus locutus sum. Quando misero sagittas famis pessimas in vos, quae erunt mortiferae, et quas mittam, ut destruam vos, et famem congregabo super vos et conteram vobis baculum panis;

16. when I loose against you my deadly arrows of famine, arrows for destruction, which I will loose to destroy you, and when I bring more and more famine upon you, and break your staff of bread.

17. et immittam in vos famem et bestias pessimas, et absque liberis facient te, et pestilentia et sanguis transibunt per te, et gladium inducam super te. Ego Dominus locutus sum”.

17. I will send famine and wild beasts against you, and they will rob you of your children; pestilence and blood shall pass through you; and I will bring the sword upon you. I, the LORD, have spoken."

5:1-4 - A Ezechiele viene ordinato di tagliarsi i capelli e la barba, a simboleggiare il giudizio di Dio su Gerusalemme. I capelli tagliati rappresentano il popolo d'Israele, che sarà diviso e disperso a causa della sua disobbedienza a Dio (vedi anche Geremia 9:26 e Zaccaria 13:7).

5:5-7 - La città di Gerusalemme è chiamata "centro delle nazioni", ma a causa della sua malvagità sarà oggetto del giudizio di Dio. La scelta di Gerusalemme come centro della corruzione mostra la gravità del peccato tra il popolo eletto (vedere anche Isaia 1:21 e Lamentazioni 4:13).

5:8-10 - Dio dichiara che, a causa della ribellione del popolo, agirà severamente contro Gerusalemme. La punizione sarà così intensa che persino i loro figli e le loro figlie saranno colpiti dalla distruzione, sottolineando la gravità della disobbedienza (vedi anche Deuteronomio 28:49-51 e Matteo 24:19).

5:11-12 - Dio promette di ridurre la popolazione di Gerusalemme a causa della malvagità, ma un residuo sarà preservato. La giustizia di Dio è chiara, ma la Sua misericordia permetterà comunque a un piccolo numero di fedeli di sopravvivere (vedi anche Amos 9:8 e Romani 9:27).

5:13-17 - Il giudizio di Dio sarà evidente su tutta la terra e la desolazione di Gerusalemme sarà un segno per le nazioni. La severità della punizione riflette la gravità del peccato e la necessità del pentimento (vedi anche Lamentazioni 2:17 e Apocalisse 6:12-17).

Versi relativi a Prophetia Ezechielis, 5:

Ezechiele capitolo 5 continua le azioni simboliche, concentrandosi sul giudizio di Gerusalemme. In che modo Dio illustra la punizione della città? Questo sorprendente testo descrive il taglio dei capelli e della barba di Ezechiele, a simboleggiare la distruzione e la dispersione del popolo. Levitico 26:33: "Ti disperderò fra le nazioni e sguainerò la spada per perseguitarti. La tua terra sarà desolata e le tue città saranno in rovina." - Gli avvertimenti del Levitico trovano eco nelle profezie di Ezechiele.

Geremia 15:2: "E se vi domandano: “Dove andremo?”, dite loro: “Così dice il Signore: Quelli destinati alla morte, alla morte; quelli con la spada, con la spada; quelli affamati, affamati; portarli in cattività, in cattività'." - Le profezie di Geremia sul giudizio hanno paralleli con quelle di Ezechiele.

Amos 9:9-10: "Poiché io comanderò e scuoterò Israele fra tutte le nazioni, come si vaglia il grano al crivello; non un chicco cadrà a terra.
