Daniel, 9

1. In the first year of Darius, the son of Ahasuerus, of the offspring of the Medes, who ruled over the kingdom of the Chaldeans,

1. La première année de Darius, fils d`Assuérus, de la race des Mèdes, lequel était devenu roi du royaume des Chaldéens,

2. in year one of his reign, I, Daniel, understood in the books the number of the years, concerning the word of the Lord which came to Jeremiah, the prophet, that the desolation of Jerusalem would be completed in seventy years.

2. la première année de son règne, moi, Daniel, je vis par les livres qu`il devait s`écouler soixante-dix ans pour les ruines de Jérusalem, d`après le nombre des années dont l`Éternel avait parlé à Jérémie, le prophète.

3. And I set my face to the Lord, my God, to ask and make supplication with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes.

3. Je tournai ma face vers le Seigneur Dieu, afin de recourir à la prière et aux supplications, en jeûnant et en prenant le sac et la cendre.

4. And I prayed to the Lord, my God, and I confessed, and I said, “I beg you, O Lord God, great and terrible, preserving the covenant and mercy for those who love you and keep your commandments.

4. Je priai l`Éternel, mon Dieu, et je lui fis cette confession: Seigneur, Dieu grand et redoutable, toi qui gardes ton alliance et qui fais miséricorde à ceux qui t`aiment et qui observent tes commandements!

5. We have sinned, we have committed iniquity, we acted impiously and have withdrawn, and we have turned aside from your commandments as well as your judgments.

5. Nous avons péché, nous avons commis l`iniquité, nous avons été méchants et rebelles, nous nous sommes détournés de tes commandements et de tes ordonnances.

6. We have not obeyed your servants, the prophets, who have spoken in your name to our kings, our leaders, our fathers, and all the people of the land.

6. Nous n`avons pas écouté tes serviteurs, les prophètes, qui ont parlé en ton nom à nos rois, à nos chefs, à nos pères, et à tout le peuple du pays.

7. To you, O Lord, is justice, but to us is confusion of face, just as it is on this day for the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and all Israel, for those who are near and those who are far off, in all the lands to which you have driven them, because of their iniquities by which they have sinned against you.

7. A toi, Seigneur, est la justice, et à nous la confusion de face, en ce jour, aux hommes de Juda, aux habitants de Jérusalem, et à tout Israël, à ceux qui sont près et à ceux qui sont loin, dans tous les pays où tu les as chassés à cause des infidélités dont ils se sont rendus coupables envers toi.

8. O Lord, to us belongs confusion of face: to our kings, our leaders, and our fathers, who have sinned.

8. Seigneur, à nous la confusion de face, à nos rois, à nos chefs, et à nos pères, parce que nous avons péché contre toi.

9. But to you, the Lord our God, is mercy and atonement, for we have withdrawn from you,

9. Auprès du Seigneur, notre Dieu, la miséricorde et le pardon, car nous avons été rebelles envers lui.

10. and we have not listened to the voice of the Lord, our God, so as to walk in his law, which he established for us by his servants, the prophets.

10. Nous n`avons pas écouté la voix de l`Éternel, notre Dieu, pour suivre ses lois qu`il avait mises devant nous par ses serviteurs, les prophètes.

11. And all Israel has transgressed your law and has turned away, not listening to your voice, and so the condemnation and the curse, which is written in the book of Moses, servant of God, has rained down upon us, because we have sinned against him.

11. Tout Israël a transgressé ta loi, et s`est détourné pour ne pas écouter ta voix. Alors se sont répandues sur nous les malédictions et les imprécations qui sont écrites dans la loi de Moïse, serviteur de Dieu, parce que nous avons péché contre Dieu.

12. And he has fulfilled his words, which he has spoken over us and over our leaders who judged us, that he would lead over us a great evil, such as has never before existed under all of heaven, according to what has been done in Jerusalem.

12. Il a accompli les paroles qu`il avait prononcées contre nous et contre nos chefs qui nous ont gouvernés, il a fait venir sur nous une grande calamité, et il n`en est jamais arrivé sous le ciel entier une semblable à celle qui est arrivée à Jérusalem.

13. Just as it has been written in the law of Moses, all this evil has come upon us, and we did not entreat your face, O Lord our God, so that we might turn back from our iniquities and consider your truth.

13. Comme cela est écrit dans la loi de Moïse, toute cette calamité est venue sur nous; et nous n`avons pas imploré l`Éternel, notre Dieu, nous ne nous sommes pas détournés de nos iniquités, nous n`avons pas été attentifs à ta vérité.

14. And the Lord kept watch over the evil and has led it over us; the Lord, our God, is just in all his works, which he has accomplished, for we have not listened to his voice.

14. L`Éternel a veillé sur cette calamité, et l`a fait venir sur nous; car l`Éternel, notre Dieu, est juste dans toutes les choses qu`il a faites, mais nous n`avons pas écouté sa voix.

15. And now, O Lord, our God, who has led your people out of the land of Egypt with a strong hand and has made yourself a name in accordance with this day: we have sinned, we have done wrong.

15. Et maintenant, Seigneur, notre Dieu, toi qui as fait sortir ton peuple du pays d`Égypte par ta main puissante, et qui t`es fait un nom comme il l`est aujourd`hui, nous avons péché, nous avons commis l`iniquité.

16. O Lord, for all your righteousness, turn away, I beg you, your anger and your fury from your city, Jerusalem, and from your holy mountain. For, because of our sins and the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and your people are a reproach to all who surround us.

16. Seigneur, selon ta grande miséricorde, que ta colère et ta fureur se détournent de ta ville de Jérusalem, de ta montagne sainte; car, à cause de nos péchés et des iniquités de nos pères, Jérusalem et ton peuple sont en opprobre à tous ceux qui nous entourent.

17. Now, therefore, heed, O God, the prayer of your servant and his requests, and reveal your face over your sanctuary, which is desolate, for your own sake.

17. Maintenant donc, ô notre Dieu, écoute la prière et les supplications de ton serviteur, et, pour l`amour du Seigneur, fais briller ta face sur ton sanctuaire dévasté!

18. Incline your ear, O my God, and hear, open your eyes and see our desolation and the city over which your name is invoked. For it is not through our justifications that we offer requests before your face, but through the fullness of your compassion.

18. Mon Dieu, prête l`oreille et écoute! ouvre les yeux et regarde nos ruines, regarde la ville sur laquelle ton nom est invoqué! Car ce n`est pas à cause de notre justice que nous te présentons nos supplications, c`est à cause de tes grandes compassions.

19. Heed, O Lord. Be pleased, O Lord. Turn and act. Do not delay, for your own sake, O my God, because your name is invoked over your city and over your people.”

19. Seigneur, écoute! Seigneur, pardonne! Seigneur, sois attentif! agis et ne tarde pas, par amour pour toi, ô mon Dieu! Car ton nom est invoqué sur ta ville et sur ton peuple.

20. And while I was still speaking and praying and confessing my sins, and the sins of my people, Israel, and offering my prayers in the sight of my God, on behalf of the holy mountain of my God,

20. Je parlais encore, je priais, je confessais mon péché et le péché de mon peuple d`Israël, et je présentais mes supplications à l`Éternel, mon Dieu, en faveur de la sainte montagne de mon Dieu;

21. as I was still speaking in prayer, behold, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, flying swiftly, touched me at the time of the evening sacrifice.

21. je parlais encore dans ma prière, quand l`homme, Gabriel, que j`avais vu précédemment dans une vision, s`approcha de moi d`un vol rapide, au moment de l`offrande du soir.

22. And he instructed me, and he spoke to me and said, “Now, Daniel, I have come forth to teach you and to help you understand.

22. Il m`instruisit, et s`entretint avec moi. Il me dit: Daniel, je suis venu maintenant pour ouvrir ton intelligence.

23. At the beginning of your prayers, the message came forth, yet I have come to explain it to you because you are a man who is seeking. Therefore, you must pay close attention to the message and understand the vision.

23. Lorsque tu as commencé à prier, la parole est sortie, et je viens pour te l`annoncer; car tu es un bien-aimé. Sois attentif à la parole, et comprends la vision!

24. Seventy weeks of years are concentrated on your people and on your holy city, so that transgression shall be finished, and sin shall reach an end, and iniquity shall be wiped away, and so that everlasting justice shall be brought in, and vision and prophecy shall be fulfilled, and the Saint of saints shall be anointed.

24. Soixante-dix semaines ont été fixées sur ton peuple et sur ta ville sainte, pour faire cesser les transgressions et mettre fin aux péchés, pour expier l`iniquité et amener la justice éternelle, pour sceller la vision et le prophète, et pour oindre le Saint des saints.

25. Therefore, know and take heed: from the going forth of the word to build up Jerusalem again, until the Christ leader, there will be seven weeks of years, and sixty-two weeks of years; and the wide path will be built again, and the walls, in a time of anguish.

25. Sache-le donc, et comprends! Depuis le moment où la parole a annoncé que Jérusalem sera rebâtie jusqu`à l`Oint, au Conducteur, il y a sept semaines et soixante-deux semaines, les places et les fossés seront rétablis, mais en des temps fâcheux.

26. And after sixty-two weeks of years, the Christ leader will be slain. And the people who have denied him will not be his. And the people, when their leader arrives, will destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end will be devastation, and, after the end of the war, the desolation will be set up.

26. Après les soixante-deux semaines, un Oint sera retranché, et il n`aura pas de successeur. Le peuple d`un chef qui viendra détruira la ville et le sanctuaire, et sa fin arrivera comme par une inondation; il est arrêté que les dévastations dureront jusqu`au terme de la guerre.

27. But he will confirm a covenant with many for one week of years; and for half of the week of years, victim and sacrifice will nearly cease; but there will be in the temple the abomination of desolation. And the desolation will continue even to the consummation and the end.”

27. Il fera une solide alliance avec plusieurs pour une semaine, et durant la moitié de la semaine il fera cesser le sacrifice et l`offrande; le dévastateur commettra les choses les plus abominables, jusqu`à ce que la ruine et ce qui a été résolu fondent sur le dévastateur.
