1 Chronicles, 10

7. When all the Israelites who were in the valley saw that Saul and his sons had died in the rout, they left their cities and fled; thereupon the Philistines came and occupied them.

This verse highlights the importance of obedience to God and how disobedience can lead to God's rejection.

Romans 6:23: "For the salary of sin is death, but God's free gift is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." This verse highlights the consequence of sin, which is death, but also emphasizes God's gift from eternal life through Christ.

Proverbs 14:12: "There is a way that man seems right, but his end is the ways of death." This verse highlights the importance of following God's way instead of trusting our own wisdom, for man's way can lead to death.
