Jeremiah 7:9-10: "You steal, kill, commit adultery, swear falsely and burn incense to Baal and follow other gods you have not known, and then come before me in the house that bears my name and says: 'We are saved ', just to continue doing all these bad things. " This excerpt shows how the people of Israel in the time of Jeremiah had deviated from God's ways and trusted only the external appearance of religiosity.

Hosea 4:6: "My people are being destroyed, because it lacks knowledge." This verse highlights the importance of knowledge and understanding of God's laws and ways to prevent destruction.

Isaiah 29:13: "This people approach me with my mouth and honor me with the lips, but their hearts are far from me. The worship that gives me is made only of rules taught by men." Ezekiel 33:31: "They come to you as if they were a people and sit before you as if they were my people, hear their words, but do not put them into practice. With their mouths they speak love, but their hearts seek only profit." This verse highlights how God's people should act according to God's words and not just talk about love and devotion.
