Exodus, 14

4. Then I will make Pharaoh's heart stubborn so that he will pursue you. And I will draw glory for myself at the cost of Pharaoh and his army, and the Egyptians shall know that I am Yahweh!" And the Israelites did as they had been instructed.

Exodus 14 tells the story of the Red Sea crossing by the people of Israel as they fled slavery in Egypt. The chapter begins with God giving Moses to instructions on how to camp before the sea and continues with the persecution of Pharaoh and his army until the arrival of the moment when the Red Sea is divided and the people of Israel are saved. Below are five verses related to the topics addressed in Exodus 14:

Psalm 77:19: "Your way has passed the sea, your way through the powerful waters, and no one has known your footsteps." This verse talks about God's wonderful intervention at the Red Sea crossing, highlighting the greatness and power of its way.

Isaiah 43:2: "When I pass through the waters, I will be with you, and when through the rivers they will not submerge you; when you pass through fire, you will not burn you, nor the flame will burn in you." This verse brings God's promise that it will be with its people at all times, including in the most difficult and dangerous situations.

1 Corinthians 10:1-2: "For I do not want, brothers, that you will ignore that our parents were all under the cloud, and all passed by the sea; and they were baptized in Moses, the cloud and in the sea." This verse refers to the Red Sea crossing event as a baptism, symbolizing the separation of the people of Israel from slavery and its union with God.

Hebrews 11:29: "By faith they crossed the Red Sea as by dry land; trying it the Egyptians were swallowed by the waters." This verse highlights the importance of faith in crossing the Red Sea, showing that it was the confidence in God's power and faithfulness that allowed the people of Israel to be safe.

Psalm 106:9: "He rebuked the Red Sea, and he dried himself; he made them walk through the abyss as the desert." This psalm refers to the event that took place in Exodus 14:21, when God opened the Red Sea so that the Israelites could cross it on foot.
