14. “Why are we sitting still? Assemble, and let us enter the fortified city, and let us remain silent there. For the Lord our God has brought us to silence, and he has given us the water of gall as a drink. For we have sinned against the Lord.

Isaiah 1:18: "Come, and let us, say the Lord; even if your sins are like scarlet, they will become white like snow; even if they are red as Carmesim, they will become like white wool. " This verse presents the offer of forgiveness and restoration that God makes to his people, even if his sins are many and serious.
