St. Luke 21 deals with Jesus' teachings about the signs that precede his second coming and the need to be prepared for this moment. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in the chapter:
2 Peter 3:10: "There shall come, as a thief the day of the Lord, in which heaven will pass with a great crash, and the elements, burning, shall dissolve, and the earth, and the works that exist in it, will be discovered. Matthew 24:42: "Watch, for you do not know what day your Lord comes in." As in St. Luke 21, Jesus emphasizes the importance of vigilance and readiness for his second coming.
