Salmos, 31

1. Del maestro de coro. Salmo. De David.

1. <To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.> In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.

2. En ti, Yahveh, me cobijo, ¡oh, no sea confundido jamás! ¡Recóbrame por tu justicia, líbrame,

2. Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me.

3. tiende hacia mí tu oído, date prisa! Sé para mí una roca de refugio, alcázar fuerte que me salve;

3. For thou [art] my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.

4. pues mi roca eres tú, mi fortaleza, y, por tu nombre, me guías y diriges.

4. Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou [art] my strength.

5. Sácame de la red que me han tendido, que tú eres mi refugio;

5. Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

6. en tus manos mi espíritu encomiendo, tú, Yahveh, me rescatas. Dios de verdad,

6. I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the LORD.

7. tú detestas a los que veneran vanos ídolos; mas yo en Yahveh confío:

7. I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;

8. ¡exulte yo y en tu amor me regocije! Tú que has visto mi miseria, y has conocido las angustias de mi alma,

8. And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room.

9. no me has entregado en manos del enemigo, y has puesto mis pies en campo abierto.

9. Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, [yea], my soul and my belly.

10. Tenme piedad, Yahveh, que en angustias estoy. De tedio se corroen mis ojos, mi alma, mis entrañas.

10. For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.

11. Pues mi vida se consume en aflicción, y en suspiros mis años; sucumbe mi vigor a la miseria, mis huesos se corroen.

11. I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.

12. De todos mis opresores me he hecho el oprobio; asco soy de mis vecinos, espanto de mis familiares. Los que me ven en la calle huyen lejos de mí;

12. I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.

13. dejado estoy de la memoria como un muerto, como un objeto de desecho.

13. For I have heard the slander of many: fear [was] on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.

14. Escucho las calumnias de la turba, terror por todos lados, mientras se aúnan contra mí en conjura, tratando de quitarme la vida.

14. But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou [art] my God.

15. Mas yo confío en ti, Yahveh, me digo: «¡Tú eres mi Dios!»

15. My times [are] in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.

16. Está en tus manos mi destino, líbrame de las manos de mis enemigos y perseguidores;

16. Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies' sake.

17. haz que alumbre a tu siervo tu semblante, ¡sálvame, por tu amor!

17. Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, [and] let them be silent in the grave.

18. Yahveh, no haya confusión para mí, que te invoco, ¡confusión sólo para los impíos; que bajen en silencio al seol,

18. Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

19. enmudezcan los labios mentirosos que hablan con insolencia contra el justo, con orgullo y desprecio!

19. [Oh] how great [is] thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; [which] thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!

20. ¡Qué grande es tu bondad, Yahveh! Tú la reservas para los que te temen, se la brindas a los que a ti se acogen, ante los hijos de Adán.

20. Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.

21. Tú los escondes en el secreto de tu rostro, lejos de las intrigas de los hombres; bajo techo los pones a cubierto de la querella de las lenguas.

21. Blessed [be] the LORD: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city.

22. ¡Bendito sea Yahveh que me ha brindado maravillas de amor (en ciudad fortificada)!

22. For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.

23. ¡Y yo que decía en mi inquietud: «Estoy dejado de tus ojos!» Mas tú oías la voz de mis plegarias, cuando clamaba a ti.

23. O love the LORD, all ye his saints: [for] the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.

24. Amad a Yahveh, todos sus amigos; a los fieles protege Yahveh, pero devuelve muy sobrado al que obra por orgullo.

24. Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.

25. ¡Valor, que vuestro corazón se afirme, vosotros todos que esperáis en Yahveh!

25.
