Jeremiah 7 contains the word of the Lord directed at the inhabitants of Judah who gathered in the temple to worship God, but who were sinning and moving away from his ways. Isaiah 1:13-14-"Stop bringing useless offers! Your incense is disgusting to me! New Moon, Saturdays and calls, I cannot stand your malaise. Your New Moon Parties and your fixed parties I hate them. They have become a burden to me; I'm tired of carrying it. " This verse shows that worship of God without repentance and life change is useless and disgusting to Him.
2 Corinthians 6:16-18 - "What agreement can there be between the temple of God and the idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said, 'I will dwell with them and walk among them; They will be my people. 'Therefore, leave their midst and separate, say the Lord. Do not touch impure things, and I will receive them. " This verse highlights the importance of being saints and separating from sin so that God will dwell in us.
