Joshua chapter 14 describes how the land of Canaan was divided between the tribes of Israel, and as Caleb, one of the spies sent by Moses to the promised land, asked Joshua to give him a portion of land that had been promised to him for God. Caleb is an example of faith and perseverance, for despite his advanced age, he was still willing to fight for his inheritance on Earth. Psalm 27:14: "Wait for the Lord; encourage you, and strengthen your heart; wait, therefore, for the Lord." This verse relates to the idea that Caleb has waited patiently for fulfilling God's promise, and that all believers must trust and wait in the Lord to fulfill their promises and plans in their lives.
