St. Matthew 12 deals with various events and teachings of Jesus, including healing on the Sabbath, the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit and the true family of Jesus. Among the topics covered, we highlight the importance of mercy, the authority of Jesus and the need to produce good fruits. Following are five verses related to these themes:
Luke 6:36 - "Merciful thirst, as is also merciful your Father." Jesus teaches his disciples the importance of mercy, showing that we must act with others just as God acts with us.
John 5:27 - and has given him authority to judge, because he is the Son of man. " In this verse, Jesus talks about his own authority to judge, showing that He is the Son of God and has power over all things.
Lucas 6:43 - "Because there is no good tree that gives a bad fruit, nor bad tree that gives a good fruit." Here, Jesus emphasizes the importance of producing good fruits in our lives, showing that it is impossible to produce good fruits if there is no good heart.
Ephesians 2:8-9 - "For by grace you are saved, through faith; and this does not come from you, it is the gift of God; it does not come from the works, so that no one can glorious." This verse highlights the importance of the grace of God and faith in Jesus for our salvation, showing that it is not for our works that we reach salvation, but by the gift of God.
Luke 8:21 - "But he answered them, my mother and my brothers are those who hear the Word of God and perform it." In this verse, Jesus shows that the true family is composed not only of our blood relatives, but of those who hear and obey the Word of God.
