Judith, 15

7. Once they returned from the carnage, the Israelite men took possession of what remained. Also the people from the villages and farms in the mountains and on the plains seized great booty because there was plenty that they could get.

Judite 15 narrates Judith's victory over the Assyrian army led by Holofernes. She can behead Holofernes while he slept, causing the enemy army's disorganization and his later defeat by the Israelites led by Ozias. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in Judite 15:

Isaiah 41:10: "Do not be afraid, for I am with you; do not be terrified, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will hold you with my victorious right hand." Judite may have found courage and strength to face the Assyrian army knowing that God was with her and would help her to win.

Joshua 1:9: "Didn't I order you to be strong and brave? Do not be afraid or beyond, for the Lord, your God, will be with you wherever you go." This verse encourages Joshua to lead the people of Israel to the Promised Land and may have served as an inspiration to Judite, who led his people to victory against the Assyrians.
