Exodus, 14

9. The Egyptians - all the chariots and horses of Pharaoh, his horsemen and his army - gave chase and caught up with them when they had encamped by the sea near Pihahiroth, facing Baalzephon.

Exodus 14 tells the story of the Red Sea crossing by the people of Israel as they fled slavery in Egypt. Psalm 77:19: "Your way has passed the sea, your way through the powerful waters, and no one has known your footsteps." This verse talks about God's wonderful intervention at the Red Sea crossing, highlighting the greatness and power of its way.

Isaiah 43:2: "When I pass through the waters, I will be with you, and when through the rivers they will not submerge you; when you pass through fire, you will not burn you, nor the flame will burn in you." This verse brings God's promise that it will be with its people at all times, including in the most difficult and dangerous situations.

1 Corinthians 10:1-2: "For I do not want, brothers, that you will ignore that our parents were all under the cloud, and all passed by the sea; and they were baptized in Moses, the cloud and in the sea." This verse refers to the Red Sea crossing event as a baptism, symbolizing the separation of the people of Israel from slavery and its union with God.

Hebrews 11:29: "By faith they crossed the Red Sea as by dry land; trying it the Egyptians were swallowed by the waters." This verse highlights the importance of faith in crossing the Red Sea, showing that it was the confidence in God's power and faithfulness that allowed the people of Israel to be safe.

Psalm 106:9: "He rebuked the Red Sea, and he dried himself; he made them walk through the abyss as the desert." This psalm refers to the event that took place in Exodus 14:21, when God opened the Red Sea so that the Israelites could cross it on foot.
