Deuteronomy, 5

31. But as for you, remain here with me that I may teach you all the commandments, precepts and laws which you have to teach that they may put them into practice in the land that I will give them as a possession."

Deuteronomy 5 recounts the delivery of the Ten Commandments by God to Moses on Mount Sinai and highlights the importance of obedience to these commandments. The chosen verses are:

Exodus 20:3: "You will not have other gods before me." This is the first of the ten commandments that were reaffirmed in Deuteronomy 5, and that emphasizes the importance of worshiping God above all other gods or idols.
