Acts, 27

17. After lifting it aboard, they used cables to undergird the hull, and since we feared running aground on the sands of Syrtis, they lowered the sea anchor. So we continued to be dragged along.

In Acts of Apostles 27, the apostle Paul's trip to Rome is reported, which suffers several difficulties and dangers during the journey due to the weather conditions and the ship's shipwreck. The following verses are related to the topics addressed in this chapter:

Psalm 107:28-30: "Then they cried to the Lord in his anguish, and he delivered them from his afflictions. He stopped the storm, and the waves were calmed. And he rejoiced with the bonanza, and thus guided them to desired port. " This psalm talks about God's power to calm the storms and rid people from danger, which relates directly to Paul's experience during the storm at sea.

2 Corinthians 11:25: "Three times I was whip with sticks, once I was stoned, three times I suffered wreck, one night and one day I spent in the abyss." Paul mentions in his letter to the Corinthians that he has undergone three wrecks, which may refer to the experience reported in Acts 27.

Jonah 1:17: "But the Lord has sent a great fish to swallow Jonas; and Jonah was three days and three nights in the bowels of the fish." Just as Jonas spent three days and three nights inside the Great Fish, Paulo and the other crew members of the ship were drifting in the sea for three days before they were rescued.

Hebrews 6:19: "Which we have as an anchor of the soul, safe and firm, and who penetrates into the veil." The anchor is a symbol of security and stability, which can be related to the idea that faith in God can support us and give us strength in the midst of adversity.

Isaiah 43:2: "When passing through the waters, I will be with you; when through the rivers, they will not submerge you; when you pass through fire, you will not burn you, nor the flame will burn in you." This verse emphasizes God's promise to be with us in the midst of dangers and difficulties, protecting us and guiding us safely to the other side.
