1 Maccabees, 7

47. Then the Jews seized the plunder and booty; they cut off Nicanor's head and the right hand he had so arrogantly stretched out, and they displayed them at the entrance to Jerusalem within sight of all.

The seventh chapter of 1 Maccabees reports the battle between the armies of Judas Macabeus and the Antiochus King. During the fight, many Jews die and their bodies are dishonored by enemy soldiers. 2 Chronicles 13:18: "Thus the children of Israel were subdued at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they trusted the God of their parents." This verse talks about the victory of King Abias of Judah about King Jeroboam of Israel, who trusted his own armies instead of trusting God.
