Jeremiah, 13

17. But if you will not listen to this, then my soul will weep in secret before the face of your pride. It will weep bitterly, and my eyes will flow with tears, because the flock of the Lord has been taken captive.

This verse speaks of the importance of seeking God's righteousness and mercy rather than trusting in our own strengths and resources.

Romans 6:23: "For the salary of sin is death, but God's free gift is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." This verse speaks of the consequences of sin and the offer of eternal life that God gives through Jesus Christ.
