Isaiah, 53

2. And he will rise up like a tender plant in his sight, and like a root from the thirsty ground. There is no beautiful or stately appearance in him. For we looked upon him, and there was no aspect, such that we would desire him.

Isaiah 53 is one of the most important chapters of the Bible, as it describes in detail the suffering and death of the suffering servant, which is identified as the Messiah. The following verses are related to the topics addressed in Isaiah 53:

Psalm 22:16: "For dogs surround me; a gathering of evildoers surrounds me; they pierced my hands and feet." This prophetic verse describes the crucifixion of Jesus, which was preached on the cross by his wrists and feet.

Matthew 8:17: "that what had been said by the prophet Isaiah that he took our diseases upon himself and carried our diseases upon himself." This verse quotes Isaiah 53:4, who talks about how the suffering servant carried our pain and sickness.
