Ruth, 4

4. I thought of bringing this matter to you before our elders here, because as the closer kin you have more right to lay claim to it. But if you have no wish to redeem it, let me know because I am next to you in line." The man replied, "I am willing to put in my claim. I will redeem it."

Leviticus 25:25: "If your relative impoverishes and sell some part of your property, your nearest rescuer will come and buy what the relative sold." Matthew 1:5-6: "Salmon generated Boaz, whose mother was Rahab, Boaz generated obed, whose mother was Ruth, obeded generated Jesse." This verse shows the importance of Ruth's story in the genealogy of Jesus Christ, highlighting the relevance of Ruth's story to the Judeo-Christian tradition.
