27. They are to be responsible for these things. These are the duties of the sons of Gershon. Their functions and their tasks are to be carried out under the direction of Aaron and his sons: you must see that they fulfill their duties.

Chapter 4 of numbers deals with the responsibilities of the Levites regarding the transport of the tabernacle and the sacred objects during the journey through the desert. The selected verses are:

Deuteronomy 31:25-26: "That Moses commanded the Levites to transport the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying, Take this book of the law and put it beside the ark of the covenant of the Lord, your God, that it may be as witness against you. But behind the second veil was the tabernacle called the Holy of Saints, who had a gold censer, and the ark of the alliance all covered with gold ... "These verses describe the Tabernacle and their sacred objects in detail, giving a deeper understanding of how it all worked and how important it was for worship of God.
