Jeremiah, 5

17. They will devour your harvest and your food, devour your sons and daughters, devour your flocks and herds, devour your vines and your fig trees. They will devastate with the sword the fortified cities in which you trust.

Jeremiah 6:13-14: "For from the smallest of them to the largest, each one gives himself to greed; and from the prophet to the priest, each one practices falsehood. And heal the wound of my people lightly, saying: Peace , peace; when there is no peace. " This verse denounces the corruption of both religious leaders and the people in general.

Jeremiah 2:11: "Did you change any nation to their gods, even if they were not gods? But my people exchanged their glory for what is of no use." This verse highlights the idolatry of the people of Judah, who has abandoned the true God to worship worthless idols.
