" This verse predicts the punishment that God will inflict to Babylon after they conclude His task of punishing Judah, showing that God is in control of the situation.
2 Chronicles 36:17: "God handed them all into the hands of the Chaldeans." This verse reports God's action to hand over the people of Judah into the hands of the Chaldeans as a consequence of the disobedience and sins of the people.
