Zephaniah, 2

9. Because of this, as I live, says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Moab will be like Sodom, and the sons of Ammon like Gomorrah, like the dryness of thorns, and piles of salt, and a desert, all the way to eternity. The remnant of my people will despoil them, and the residue of my nation will possess them.

Chapter 2 of Sophonies talks about the imminent destruction that will come about the neighboring nations of Judah, including Moab, Ammon, Cux and Nineveh. " This verse talks about the punishment that will come upon Babylon for its disobedience, which relates to the prophecy of Sophonies about the destruction that will come over the nations.

Leave the wicked his way, and the evil man his thoughts, and convert to the Lord, who shall be sympathized; To our God, because it is great to forgive. " This verse talks about the importance of repentance, which is a call that Saponiah makes to the inhabitants of Judah at the end of chapter 2.
