2 Maccabees, 14

26. But Alcimus seeing the love that they had for one another, and the agreements, went to Demetrius, and he told him that Nicanor had assented to foreign interests, and that he had chosen Judas, a traitor to the kingdom, as his successor.

Psalm 33:16-17: "There is no king who saves himself with the multitude of his armies, nor the brave man gets rid of his strength. The horse is going to security; it does not deliver anyone with its great strength." This verse talks about how victory depends not only on physical strength or numbers, but on God's help.

Isaiah 41:10: "Do not fear, because I am with you, do not haunt yourself, because I am your God; I strengthen you, and help you, and I support you with my faithful right hand." This verse talks about how God is our protector and provider at all times, including moments of battle and difficulty.
