Tobias chapter 3 reports the prayer of Sara, daughter of Raguel, who was distressed because of a demon who pursued and terrified her, causing her to want death. 1 Peter 5:8-9: "Sober and vigilant thirst, because the Devil, your adversary, is melting, bustling as a lion, seeking to those who can swallow; to which resisted firm in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are fulfilled between your brothers in the world. " This verse talks about the need to be alert and resist the devil, for he is always looking for someone to try.
Ephesians 6:12: "For we do not have to fight against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the princes of darkness of this century, against the spiritual hosts of evil in the heavenly places." This verse talks about the spiritual nature of the battle that Christians face, and how they must be equipped with God's armor to resist the devil's onslaught.
