1 Samuel, 3

17. And he said, What [is] the thing that [the LORD] hath said unto thee? I pray thee hide [it] not from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide [any] thing from me of all the things that he said unto thee.

1 Samuel 3 narrates Samuel's call to be a prophet of God. God spoke to Samuel for the first time when he was still a child serving in the temple of God. The chapter shows the importance of listening to the voice of God and obeying it. Here are five verses related to topics covered in this chapter:

Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord of all your heart and do not rely on your own understanding; recognize the Lord in all your ways, and He will straighten your paths." This verse highlights the importance of trusting God and listening to his orientation rather than trusting our own limited understanding.

Isaiah 30:21: "When you turn to right or left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying," This is the way; Follow it "." This verse talks about how God guides his people, even when they deviate from the right way, he calls them to return to the right way.

John 10:27: "My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me." This verse shows that just as Samuel heard the voice of God, those who are truly of God hear and follow his voice.

Acts 9:6: "Get up, enter the city and will be told what you should do." This verse shows how God called Saul, later known as Paul, to ministry. He obeyed the voice of God, following the instructions given to Him.

James 1:22: "Be practitioners of the Word, not just listeners, deceiving yourself." This verse emphasizes the importance of not only listening to God's Word, but also obeying it and putting it into practice. This is especially important when it comes to listening to the voice of God and following his orientation.
