Ezéchiel, 7

1. La parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes:

1. Thus the word of the LORD came to me:

2. Et toi, fils de l'homme, ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh au pays d'Israël La fin! La fin vient sur les quatre coins de la terre!

2. Son of man, now say: Thus says the Lord GOD to the land of Israel: An end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land!

3. Maintenant la fin vient sur toi; je vais donner cours à ma colère contre toi; je te jugerai d'après tes oeuvres; je ferai retomber sur toi toutes tes abominations.

3. Now the end is upon you; I will unleash my anger against you and judge you according to your conduct and lay upon you the consequences of all your abominations.

4. Mon oeil ne t'épargnera pas, et je serai sans pitié; car je ferai retomber sur toi tes oeuvres, et tes abominations seront au milieu de toi; et vous saurez que je suis Yahweh.

4. I will not look upon you with pity nor have mercy; I will bring your conduct down upon you, and the consequences of your abominations shall be in your midst; then shall you know that I am the LORD.

5. Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh Un malheur unique! Un malheur! Voici qu'il arrive! 6 Une fin vient! La fin arrive! Elle s'éveille contre toi; voici qu'elle arrive!

5. Thus says the Lord GOD: Disaster upon disaster! See it coming!

6. An end is coming, the end is coming upon you! See it coming!

7. Ton sort est venu, habitant du pays; le temps vient, le jour est proche! Du tumulte!... et non le cri de joie sur les montagnes.

7. The climax has come for you who dwell in the land! The time has come, near is the day: a time of consternation, not of rejoicing.

8. Maintenant, je vais sans tarder répandre mon courroux sur toi; j'assouvirai sur toi ma colère, je te jugerai selon tes voies, et je ferai retomber sur toi toutes tes abominations.

8. Soon now I will pour out my fury upon you and spend my anger upon you; I will judge you according to your conduct and lay upon you the consequences of all your abominations.

9. Mon oeil n'épargnera pas, et je serai sans pitié; je ferai retomber sur toi tes oeuvres, tes abominations seront au milieu de, toi; et vous saurez que c'est moi, Yahweh, qui frappe!

9. I will not look upon you with pity nor have mercy; I will deal with you according to your conduct, and the consequences of your abominations shall be in your midst; then shall you know that it is I, the LORD, who strike.

10. Voici le jour; voici qu'il vient; ton sort est arrivé; la verge fleurit, l'orgueil éclôt.

10. See, the day of the LORD! See, the end is coming! Lawlessness is in full bloom, insolence flourishes,

11. La violence s'élève, pour être la verge de l'impiété. Il ne restera rien d'eux, ni de leur multitude, ni de leur tumulte, et ils n'auront plus d'éclat.

11. violence has risen to support wickedness. It shall not be long in coming, nor shall it delay.

12. Le temps vient, le jour approche! Que l'acheteur ne se réjouisse pas, et que le vendeur ne s'afflige point; car la colère va éclater sur toute leur multitude.

12. The time has come, the day dawns. Let not the buyer rejoice nor the seller mourn, for wrath shall be upon all the throng.

13. Le vendeur ne rentrera pas en possession de ce qu'il aura vendu, fût-il encore parmi les vivants; car la vision contre toute leur multitude ne sera point révoquée, et nul par son péché n'assurera sa vie.

13. The seller shall not regain what he sold as long as he lives, for wrath shall be upon all the throng. Because of his sins, no one shall preserve his life.

14. On sonne la trompette, et tout est prêt; mais personne ne marche au combat, car ma colère est contre toute leur multitude.

14. They shall sound the trumpet and make everything ready, yet no one shall go to war, for my wrath is upon all the throng.

15. Au dehors, l'épée; au dedans, la peste et la famine; celui qui est aux champs mourra par l'épée, et celui qui est dans la ville, la famine et la peste le dévoreront.

15. The sword is outside; pestilence and hunger are within. He that is in the country shall die by the sword; pestilence and famine shall devour those in the city.

16. Si des fugitifs parmi eux s'enfuient, ils erreront sur les montagnes comme les colombes des vallées, tous gémissant, chacun pour son péché.

16. Even those who escape and flee to the mountains like the doves of the valleys--I will put them all to death, each one for his own sins.

17. Toutes les mains sont défaillantes, et tous les genoux se fondent en eau.

17. All their hands shall be limp, and all their knees shall run with water.

18. Ils se revêtent de sacs, et la terreur les enveloppe; la confusion est sur tous les visages, et toutes les têtes sont rasées.

18. They shall put on sackcloth, and horror shall cover them; shame shall be on all their faces and baldness on all their heads.

19. Ils jetteront leur argent dans les rues, et leur or sera pour eux de l'ordure; leur argent et leur or ne pourront les délivrer; au jour de la colère de Yahweh; ils n'en rassasieront pas leur âme, et n'en rempliront pas leurs entrailles; car c'est là ce qui les a fait tomber dans l'iniquité.

19. They shall fling their silver into the streets, and their gold shall be considered refuse. Their silver and gold cannot save them on the day of the LORD'S wrath. They shall not be allowed to satisfy their craving or fill their bellies, for this has been the occasion of their sin.

20. Des joyaux dont ils se paraient, ils faisaient leur orgueil; ils en fabriquaient leurs abominations, leurs idoles. C'est pourquoi je changerai tout cela en ordure,

20. In the beauty of their ornaments they put their pride: they made of them their abominable images (their idols). For this reason I make them refuse.

21. et je le livrerai en pillage aux mains des étrangers, en proie aux impies de la terre, -- et ils le souilleront.

21. I will hand them over as booty to foreigners, to be spoiled and defiled by the wicked of the earth.

22. Je détournerai d'eux mon visage, et on souillera mon trésor; des hommes de violence y entreront et le souilleront.

22. I will turn away my face from them, and my treasure shall be profaned: robbers shall enter and profane it.

23. Prépare les chaînes; car le pays est rempli d'attentats, et la ville de violences.

23. They shall wreak slaughter, for the land is filled with bloodshed and the city full of violence.

24. Et je ferai venir les plus méchants d'entre les peuples, et ils s'empareront de leurs maisons, et ils mettront fin à l'orgueil des puissants; et leurs lieux saints seront profanés.

24. I will bring in the worst of the nations, who shall take possession of their houses. I will put an end to their proud strength, and their sanctuaries shall be profaned.

25. La ruine vient; ils chercheront la paix, et il n'y en aura point.

25. When anguish comes they shall seek peace, but there will be none.

26. Il arrivera malheur sur malheur, et nouvelle sur nouvelle; et ils chercheront des visions auprès des prophètes, et la loi fera défaut au prêtre, et le conseil aux anciens.

26. There shall be disaster after disaster, rumor after rumor. Prophetic vision shall fade; instruction shall be lacking to the priest, and counsel to the elders,

27. Le roi sera dans le deuil, le prince se vêtira de tristesse, et les mains du peuple du pays trembleront. Je les traiterai d'après leurs oeuvres, je les jugerai selon leurs mérites; et ils sauront que je suis Yahweh.

27. while the prince shall be enveloped in terror, and the hands of the common people shall tremble. I will deal with them according to their conduct, and according to their judgments I will judge them; thus they shall know that I am the LORD.
