Psalms, 143

3. For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.

Psalm 142:5: "To you, Lord, I cry, saying, You are my refuge; you are all I have in the Land of the living." The psalmist recognizes that God is his refuge and the only hope in the midst of adversity.

Psalm 139:23-24: "Search me, O God, and know my heart; prove me, and know my concerns. See if in my conduct something offends you, and direct me along the eternal path."
