Philippians 1 is a chapter that talks about the joy Paul had in his prison, his prayer for the Philippians, and his desire for Christ to be glorified in his life. Following are five verses from other Bible books that relate to the topics addressed in Philippians 1.
2 Corinthians 12:10: "Therefore I enjoy weaknesses, injuries, needs, persecution, anguish, for Christ's sake. Because when I am weak, then I am strong." This verse talks about the pleasure Paul had in difficulties, which is addressed in Philippians 1, where he talks about the joy he had in his prison.
Colossians 1:9-12: "For this reason we, either, from the day we hear it, we do not cease to pray for you, and to ask you to be full of the knowledge of His will, in all spiritual wisdom and understanding; so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, pleasing to him in all, fruitful in every good work, and growing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to the strength of his glory, that you may have all perseverance and patience with enjoyment; giving thanks to the Father, who made you suitable to participate in the inheritance of the saints in the light.
