Zechariah, 14

13. And on that day a great panic from the LORD shall fall on them, so that each will lay hold on the hand of his fellow, and the hand of the one will be raised against the hand of the other;

Chapter 14 of Zechariah deals with the coming of the Lord to judge all nations of the earth and establish his kingdom on earth. It will be a day of darkness and great earthquake, but it will also be a day of hope for those who believe in the Lord. Here are five verses related to the topics addressed in Zechariah 14:

Isaiah 2:4: "He will judge among the nations and resolve the disputes of many peoples. From their swords, they will forge plows and their spears, he will raise the sword against the other, nor will they learn more to war." This verse talks about the Lord's judgment on the nations of the earth, which is an important theme in Zechariah 14. The peace he will bring is also mentioned, indicating the stabilization of God's reign.

Psalm 97:5: "The mountains melt like wax before the Lord before the sovereign of all the earth." This verse talks about the majestic presence of the Lord and his ability to destroy everything that is opposed to him, which is relevant to the great earthquake and darkness mentioned in Zechariah 14.

Malachi 3:2: "But who will endure the day of your coming? Who will stand when it appears? Because it will be like the fire of the goldsmiths and as the laundry soap." This verse describes the coming of the Lord and the intensity of the judgment he will bring, which is in tune with the themes of Zechariah 14.

Matthew 24:29: "Immediately after the tribulation of those days, 'the sun shall darken, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from heaven and the powers of heaven will be shaken.' This verse is a direct reference to Zechariah 14:6-7, which describes a day of darkness and earthquake. It is a confirmation of the authenticity of the prophecies of Zechariah.

Revelation 22:5: "There will be no more night. They will not need lamp light or sunlight, for the Lord God will illuminate them. They will reign forever and ever." This verse is a reference to the reign of God on earth, which is the final theme of Zechariah 14. It is a reminder of hope that believers have of a glorious future in the presence of the Lord.
