Chapter 25 of 2 kings narrates the final fall of Jerusalem and the destruction of the temple by the Babylonians. King Zedekiah was captured and taken to Nebuchadnezzar, who ordered the execution of his children before him. Jeremiah 52:13: "And burned the house of the Lord, and the house of the king, as well as all the houses of Jerusalem; all the important houses he burned them." This verse confirms the complete destruction of Jerusalem and the temple by the Babylonian army.
