In Acts of Apostles 21, Paul and his companions arrive in Jerusalem and are well received by the brothers. However, some Jews begin to accuse Paul of teaching against the law and the temple, resulting in a series of conflicts and persecution. Following are five verses related to the topics covered in this chapter:
Acts 21:13: "Then Paul answered, Let you do you, crying and hurting my heart? For I am ready not only to be linked, but still dying in Jerusalem by the name of the Lord Jesus." In this verse, Paul demonstrates his determination to follow God's will, even if it means facing death.
Acts 21:20-21: "Listening to them, they glorified God and said unto him, Well, brother, how many thousands there are among the Jews who believe, and all are zealous of the law; and were informed about you who teach everyone The Jews who are among the Gentiles to depart from Moses, telling them that they do not circumcise their children or ride the customs. " These verses show how Jews were concerned with maintaining the tradition and law of Moses, and how Paul's message challenged these traditions.
Acts 21:26: "Then Paul took those men with him, and the next day, having purified with them, entered the temple, announcing the fulfillment of the days of purification until the offer was offered for each of them. " This verse highlights the fact that Paul was not teaching Jews to abandon the law and traditions, but to recognize that salvation comes by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ.
Acts 21:27-29: "Now, when they were to finish the seven days, the Jews of Asia, see him in the temple, stirred all the people and resorted to him, crying out: Israeli men, this is the man who Teaches everyone everywhere against the people, and against the law, and against this place; and even introduced Greeks into the temple, and profaned this holy place. " In these verses, we see how false accusations against Paul result in a great confusion in the temple.
Acts 21:33: "Then the tribune, coming close to him, arrested him and told him with two chains, and asked who he was and what he had done." This verse marks the moment Paul is arrested and taken to be tried before the Sanhedrin.
