Isaiah, 38

8. Look, I shall make the shadow cast by the declining sun on the steps -- the steps to Ahaz's roof-room-go back ten steps.' And the sun went back the ten steps by which it had declined.

Isaiah 38 tells the story of King Hezekiah, who badly gets sick and receives the news that he will die soon. He prays to the Lord and asks him to grant him more life. Psalm 30:5 - "For your wrath lasts only a moment, but your favor lasts a lifetime; crying may persist a night, but in the morning the joy erupts." This verse highlights the mercy and love of God, which despite the illness of Hezekiah, still favored him with more life.

Psalm 116:1-2-"I love the Lord, for he hears my voice and my supplication. For he leaned his ears into me, I will invoke him as long as I live." This verse shows the importance of prayer and trust in God. Hezekiah trusted God and prayed for healing, and was heard and answered by the Lord.
