Deuteronomy 13 deals with the importance of staying true to the Lord and punishment to those who try to bring the Israelites to worship other gods. Deuteronomy 6:14-15 - "Do not follow other gods, of the gods of the peoples who are around you; for the Lord thy God is a zealous God in the midst of you, that the wrath of the Lord thy God may not light up against You and destroy you from the earth. " This verse reinforces the prohibition of worshiping other gods and the serious consequences that may occur if one dodges from the Lord.

" This verse warns of the false prophets who can try to deceive the people with words that do not come from the Lord.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15-"For such false apostles are fraudulent workers, transfiguring himself into apostles of Christ.
