2 Samuel, 7

23. And what nation is there upon earth, as thy people Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for them great and terrible things, upon the earth, before the face of thy people, whom thou redeemedst to thyself out of Egypt, from the nations and their gods.

2 Samuel 7:16: "Thy house and your kingdom will be forever safe before me; Your throne will be established forever." God promises to David that his dynasty will be eternal.

He will extend the His domain, and there will be endless peace over the throne of David and his kingdom, which he will establish and keep with justice and righteousness from now and forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do it. " This prophetic passage refers to God's promise to David from eternal descent and a righteous kingdom.

Acts 2:29-31: "Brothers, be allowed to tell you with frankness that patriarch David died and was buried, and his grave is among us to this day. Being a prophet, he knew that God had Promised with an oath that one of his descendants would settle on his throne. Predicting this, David spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that he was not abandoned in Hades, nor did his body experience corruption. " Peter quotes David to demonstrate that Jesus' resurrection is evidence of God's faithfulness to the promise of eternal descent to David.
