Exodus, 14

20. and stood between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. And it was a dark cloud, yet it illuminated the night, so that they could not succeed at approaching one another at any time all that night.

Isaiah 43:2: "When I pass through the waters, I will be with you, and when through the rivers they will not submerge you; when you pass through fire, you will not burn you, nor the flame will burn in you." This verse brings God's promise that it will be with its people at all times, including in the most difficult and dangerous situations.

1 Corinthians 10:1-2: "For I do not want, brothers, that you will ignore that our parents were all under the cloud, and all passed by the sea; and they were baptized in Moses, the cloud and in the sea." Psalm 106:9: "He rebuked the Red Sea, and he dried himself; he made them walk through the abyss as the desert." This psalm refers to the event that took place in Exodus 14:21, when God opened the Red Sea so that the Israelites could cross it on foot.
