Chapter 3 of Acts of the Apostles narrates the healing of a lame man who was at the temple door asking for alms. Peter and John, as they pass him, heal him in the name of Jesus Christ. This episode results in a great commotion of the people who witnessed the miracle and Peter takes the opportunity to preach about Jesus as the Messiah and urges the people to repentance and conversion. Psalm 103:3: "He is the one who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your illnesses" Peter and John cure a man who was sick from birth, showing that Jesus is able to heal and forgive sins.

The healing of man lame through faith in Jesus Christ occurs in compliance with a prophecy of Isaiah, which shows that he was wounded to give us peace and heal us.
