Jeremiah seeks God's will and responds that if they remain in Judah, they will be blessed, but if they go to Egypt, they will be punished. However, they refuse to listen and decide to go to Egypt. Jeremiah 26:13: "Now change their lives and conduct, and obey the voice of the Lord, His God, that He may repent of the evil he has announced against you." This verse shows how Jeremiah urges the people to repent and change their lives to avoid divine punishment.
