2 Samuel 7 narrates an important dialogue between God and King David, in which God promises David a lasting offspring and an eternal kingdom. 2 Samuel 7:12: "When you complete your days and rest with your parents, I will establish a son of yours after you, and confirm your royalty." This verse is the beginning of the promise God makes David of lasting offspring and an eternal kingdom.
