1 Maccabees, 6

8. When the king heard this news, he was astounded and badly shaken. He took to his bed and became sick from grief, because things had not turned out for him as he had planned.

Chapter 6 of 1 Maccabees narrates the confrontation between King Antiochus IV Epiphanes and the Jewish leader Judas Macabeu, and the subsequent battle in Betzur.
