Chapter 3 of Acts of the Apostles narrates the healing of a lame man who was at the temple door asking for alms. Peter and John, as they pass him, heal him in the name of Jesus Christ. This episode results in a great commotion of the people who witnessed the miracle and Peter takes the opportunity to preach about Jesus as the Messiah and urges the people to repentance and conversion.
