Zephaniah, 1

3. I will gather man, and beast, I will gather the birds of the air, and the fishes of the sea: and the ungodly shall meet with ruin: and I will destroy men from off the face of the land, saith the Lord.

Chapter 1 of Sophonies begins with the prophecy of destruction that will come upon Judah and Jerusalem due to its idolatry and injustice. God Himself will punish them for their disobedience. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in sophonies 1:

Jeremiah 25:34: "UIVAI, shepherds, and cry; and revolve into the gray, leaders of the flock; for your days have already been fulfilled to be dead; and I will disperse, and fall as a desirable vessel." This verse shows that God's judgment is imminent and inevitable, and no one will escape him.
